Why I Invested in a Good Blender

Why I invested in a good blender and how you can choose the best one for you

Check out this veggie smoothie recipe that I absolutely love. Did you know I can put all of these things in my smoothie (raw!) and it actually comes out as liquid! Like not one tiny chunk of anything left.

That’s why I invested in a good blender.

I could end there, but maybe you need a little more.

I started out with a simple tabletop, couldn’t have been more than $30, blender. Every time I blended something, there were chunks left. Big chunks. I couldn’t even blend ice. I threw that thing away in a hurry. Not worth it.

With so many blenders, mixers, emulsifiers, and juicers on the market today, it’s hard to know what’s really going to work. And when you’re spending a lot of money on them, you don’t really want to figure it out by trial and error. Let's take a closer look so you can choose the best option for you.

My first question for you is, what do you want your blender to do?

If you want to make simple recipes with pre-cooked or softened ingredients, a simple blender is just fine. In fact, there are lots of smoothies that can be made with a less-powerful blender. You can also make things like salsa just find in these blenders.

You must also ask yourself how much you want to use it. If you only want an occasional smoothie or soup, don’t spend a lot of money on something you won’t use very much.

If however, you want to literally emulsify things, heat up your food while blending, or make thick foods like ice cream all the time, you will need something more powerful.

So, what should you look for in a blender?

·      A tight fitting lid – believe it or not, many lids come off!

·      Easy cleanup – like blend soapy water in the blender and it’s done!

·      Versatility – look for a range of power settings so you can simply chop or fully blend.

·      A good warranty – Heavier duty blenders have longer warranties.

·      Size – You can have the greatest blender of all time, but still have nowhere to store it. Make sure it will fit your space as many take up a LOT of counter or cupboard real estate.

We could spend all day talking about all the different kinds of blenders on the market, but seriously, I’ve done the research for you. And today I’m going to share the TOP TWO blenders out there.

I spent a couple years doing research on blenders and time and time again these two always blew everything out of the water. So what are they?

Vitamix and Blendtec.

If you want, you can check out this article that goes into extreme detail on the difference between the two. But suffice it to say that either one of these is a fantastic option.

I recognize they are pricey, which is why it took me a couple years to save for one. But, since owning my blender, I’ve made soup (like it comes out of the blender HOT), ice cream, brownie mix, and smoothies galore.

So, if you’re looking to really step up your game, instead of buying that $30 blender, save it and wait a few months or years to get one that will really serve you well.
